Beginning Again
It’s been a few years since I’ve written here. Work, family, and everyday life have filled my days, and this little space has been quiet. I’ve missed it.
Recently, I’ve been working on She Came Home, a book I’m writing for my kids. It’s brought me back to experiences that have shaped me ~ losing my mom, being a mom, and learning, over and over, how to live with things I cannot change.
Writing about these memories and experiences has surprised me. Approaching 55, I see things differently than I did in my late 20’s - even in 30’s and 40’s. I have new questions, more compassion, and plenty of things I’m still trying to understand.
So I’m beginning again here, too.
As I write the book, I’d like to share some of the reflections and questions that come along with it: what acceptance looks like in everyday life, how we hold hope alongside uncertainty, and how we make room to hear ourselves in the middle of a busy day.
My hope is to post a couple of times a month. That feels like a manageable way to make space for something that matters to me while I manage a full-time job and my own family and life.
Maybe there’s something you’ve been wanting to return to as well. A few words, a quiet moment, a small beginning.
This is mine. It feels good to be back.
